Not to Think is a Key

What I know is important while working on art is not to think.

For me, thinking limits my possibilities.

Great ideas always fall on me at the best timing anyway.

Since childhood I've known that a meeting or discussion is meaningless.

We tend to discuss to come up with the best idea, but a great idea naturally comes when we are relaxed.

So when are we relaxed?

In my case, I'm relaxed when I'm taking a shower, sitting on the toilet or right before falling asleep.

The ideas that fall on me in those times surprise me.

Therefore I don't make effort to come up with the best idea while making art.

I just take a nap, have coffee and look at the sky.

アートを作る上で僕が大切にしていることは「考えない」ことです。

考えることで自分の可能性に制限をかけてしまうからです。

素晴らしいアイデアはいつも最高のタイミングでやって来るものです。

僕は子供の頃から会議やディスカッションはほとんど意味がないと思っていました。

僕たちは良きアイデアを出すためにディスカッションなどしがちですが、良いアイデアはだいたいリラックスしている時に自然と降りてきます。

ではリラックスしている時とはいつなのか？

僕の場合だと、リラックスしているのは、シャワーを浴びている時とか、トイレ中とか、寝落ちする寸前です。

そういったときのアイデアにはいつもハッとさせられます。

だから僕はアート作品制作中は努力してアイデアを出そうとしません。

昼寝したり、コーヒー飲んだり、空見たりしてます。
